When should kittens get injections. Some vaccines might be given together in one injection that is called a combination vaccine. After this point they are protected against the diseases covered by the vaccines. Until your kitten is fully vaccinated and neutered you should keep him or her inside. Then your cat will have an annual booster jab every 12 months to keep them protected for life.

A kitten has its first injection at 9 weeks and then a second 3 4 weeks later. However from a behavioural point of view it is very important that a young kitten of this age is confronted with different situations to ensure that it grows into a socialised adult. In theory they should not be allowed outside until they have had the second injection. When to get vaccinations done kittens usually start with a course of two injections given at nine and 12 weeks.

Kittens are only considered to be vaccinated when they ve had at least two injections including the first booster at 12 16 weeks. Also some non core vaccines may be required depending on the kitten s environment and its risk of getting exposed to certain diseases. Kittens can start their vaccinations from nine weeks old and will need a second set of injections usually 2 4 weeks after their initial set to complete their course. After this kittens and cats usually need booster vaccinations every twelve months.

Usually vaccines begin at about six weeks of age and repeated every three weeks till they re about 16 18 weeks old.
